Peter ThompsonManaging Partner

Peter’s profound market, technical and contractual knowledge make him the keystone in his clients yachting endeavours.

From Captain to broker, Peter has been involved in the industry for more than 30 years. As Captain of many prestigious 50m+ yachts both circumnavigating the globe and groundbreaking new builds he gained unrivalled knowledge, which he brought ashore to start his brokerage career with Cavendish White. He went on to be New Build Director at Ocean Independence constructing 62m Diamonds Are Forever among others.

Yacht owners and buyers will all appreciate Peter’s accomplished leadership, sales, yacht management and hands on experience, in guiding and managing their superyacht portfolios.

David WestwoodManaging Partner
By the age of 20 David was running a fleet of private sailing yachts, among which was the iconic SY America. In 2007 he co-founded a service and support agency, Yacht Help in Malta, which soon expanded into sales, management and refit for yachts of up to 123m, as well as operating a charter fleet across the Southern Mediterranean. 

David’s dynamic nature, integrity and tireless efficiency have earned him a solid reputation in the industry.  His practical approach, technical and engineering savvy and comprehensive understanding of life at sea have been the backbone of many new build and refit projects, including the recently launched 56m MY The Wellesley, which won Best of the Best at MYBA in 2016.

An encyclopedic knowledge of superyacht sales and charter, and excellent relationships around the globe, ensure that David – and his clients – stay ahead of the game.
Michael WhiteManaging Partner
Mike started in the yachting industry at Halsey Marine at the age of 20 and by the late 1980s he was the Managing Director. In 1990 he co-founded Cavendish White, becoming sole shareholder of the globally revered business in 1999.

In 2008 he sold the company to Ocean Independence, where he remained until he joined forces with Peter Thompson, soon to become Thompson, Westwood & White. Michael’s in-depth understanding of all aspects of the superyacht business: charter, sales and purchase, coupled with his expertise running and managing a successful international brokerage company are invaluable to the team and his clients alike. 

He is a past President of MYBA as well as an honourary member of the YPY.
