Glen Campbell

Growing up in the seaside town of Southend, on the East coast of England, Glen developed a passion for the sea and travel from an early age. Learning to sail in his early 20’s, saw him sailing the South Ionians in Greece, the North Sea from Belgium and Holland and the waters of the Philippines. His maritime career commenced in his late 20’s after completing his Yacht Master. Initially as delivery crew and then skipper for Universal Maritime, delivering new build yachts from factory to load to ship, dealerships and Owners, covering all areas from Plymouth to Finland and The Bay of Biscay. This in turn led him on to work on board Superyachts as a Deckhand up to Bosun, on vessels ranging from 55m to 63m. After 4 years on board, Glen returned in 2015 to the South Coast of the UK where he was Captain on board a 22m Pershing for a private owner. He had full autonomy in running the vessel, including all certification and insurances, budgeting, purchasing, hiring, planned maintenance scheduling, technical servicing, guest excursions, itinerary building and yard/refit periods, as well as the day-to-day maintenance and safe navigation of the vessel. After the vessel was sold, Glen decided to make the move ashore permanent, freelancing for project management on private vessels and becoming an aftersales manager for Windy and Pearl at Berthon in Lymington. However, Glen missed the connection to the crew and teams on board so when a position at an industry-leading recruitment company became available he grabbed the chance. For 4+ years he guided, advised and shaped people’s careers within the yachting industry, initially for the Officers on board and then for land-based personnel in maritime. Since joining TWW Yacht Management he has continued developing our team, our partnerships and our internal personnel operations with his vast knowledge and expertise both onboard and ashore proving invaluable.

When not busy working you might find Glen on Forrest Adventures with his wife, two young boys and their dog Roxy, Kickboxing (Muay Thai), playing Airsoft, or working on his Harley. Glen’s career in his younger years was as a professional Singer/Dancer/Actor, appearing in several well-known large productions, with his final role as part of the Mamma Mia World Tour. So, if you see him at an industry event, be sure to get him on the dance floor!
