The northernmost cay of the famous Exumas chain, Shroud Cay, is an uninhabited island owned by the Exuma Land and Sea Park. Filled with sun-soaked white sand beaches, surrounded by bright turquoise waters and stunningly rocky formations, it clear why it’s a dream tropical destination. A scuba diver’s haven, the clarity of the water is so clear that you can easily see the abundance of tropical fish which live there. A place to reconnect to nature, no luxury charter through the Bahamas is complete without a visit to Shroud Cay.

Shroud Cay Charter Guide

Due to the archipelago’s unique structure, the rocks surrounding the shallow tidal mangrove salt marsh have created a unique nursery space that is home to an abundance of fish, sea turtles, birds, lobsters, and more.
Charter Guide

The Washing Machine

There is a spot where zipping currents run around a small beach peninsula known to the locals as the ‘washing machine.’ If you jump into the current on one side of the point, it will zip you around to the other side, hence its name.

Drift Diving

Anchor by the shore and break out the scuba diving gear. Take the tender to Wax Cay Cut and try drift diving. Enjoy diving among the coral with sandbanks on either side and a wide range of marine life, including nurse sharks here.

Hiking & Trekking

Head ashore and spend some time exploring Camp Driftwood Beach. Hike to the highest point of the cay for stunning views of the area before hiking back down to the beach for a beautiful sunset.

Kayaking

Break out the kayaks and explore the cay from the water level. Shroud Cay has many channels of mangroves that you can explore at high tide. If kayaking is not your favorite watersport, then try your hand at paddleboarding.

Rock Exploration

Rock exploration Wander along the shoreline and explore some of the rugged, jagged and interesting rock formations created by the waves. But be sure to wear shoes as the rocks can be very sharp.
