Day 1

Nassau

Tropical, carefree Nassau is often considered the beating heart of the Bahamas. This vibrant city on the island of New Providence is steeped in pirate and colonial history and oozes luxury entertainment. Whether you want to dance until dawn, sip a glass of local rum while watching the sunset or gamble at the glitzy casinos, a superyacht charter in Nassau promises a sun-drenched playground for the entire family. While away the day on one of the many beaches lining Paradise Island, or swim with dolphins in the Blue Lagoon. Alternatively, there are a plethora of designer boutiques, luxury spas, fine restaurants and a world-class golf course to choose from.

Day 2

Highborne Cay

Highbourne Cay is a speck of sandy paradise rising above the turquoise waters of the Atlantic. This privately owned island in the spectacular Exumas archipelago is the epitome of tropical perfection and measures only 3 miles long. The first-class marina delights yachts arriving here, but the eight magnificent beaches all within walking distance are the island’s true highlight. The pristine East Beach stretches the entire length of the island, with sugar white sand and gentle, brilliant blue waters that are calling out to be enjoyed.

Day 3

Norman's Cay

Norman’s Cay, located just half a mile from Staniel Cay, is a beautiful and intriguing stop on any Bahamas superyacht charter itinerary. It’s difficult to believe that this tiny, peaceful island has had one of the most turbulent modern histories in the Bahamas, having served as the headquarters of Carlos Lehder’s drug-smuggling operation between 1978 and 1982. Snorkel in the dazzlingly clear waters and spot the shallow wreck of a small plane that crashed during the island’s heyday, or go ashore to explore the remains of Lehder’s mansion.

Day 4

Warderick Wells

Warderick Wells Cay is the main island in the Exuma archipelago and the focal point of the 176-square-mile Exuma Cays Land and Sea National Park. Established in 1958, Warderick Wells Cay consists of a pristine string of beaches and sea conditions that provide huge benefits for the area’s biodiversity and wildlife refuge. Well-known for its abundant marine life, don’t miss snorkeling the underwater trail and discovering the world beneath your feet. Near the park headquarters, find the skeleton of a sperm whale – a sobering reminder of the importance of reserves like this in the fight to protect our oceans.

Day 5

Staniel Cay

With around 100 inhabitants, your first sights of the 2-square-mile Staniel Cay will be pastel, stilted houses jutting into the azure waters that lap at its shores. There is a thriving island community and an impressive marina, but most visitors come to see the Exumas’ most famous residents: the swimming pigs! On Big Major Cay, a neighboring uninhabited island, 25 wild pigs and piglets have learned to swim in the bath-warm Atlantic waters and greet visitors with excited grunts for food. Spend the day swimming with pigs, kayaking in lagoons, picnicking on deserted beaches and diving with sharks in James Bond’s Thunderball Grotto.

Day 7

Eleuthera

Deep navy blue waters plunge miles deep on one side of Eleuthera’s long thin strip of land, while shallow turquoise seas lap at the other. It’s a stunning effect and when combined with pink sand beaches makes for one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas. Shallow, calm beaches give way to those with rolling waves that attract hordes of surfers. Turtles seek refuge in the pristine Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Reserve and an inland swimming hole teems with iridescent fish and turtles. Eleuthera truly is a must-see stop on any Bahamas charter itinerary.
