Great Barrier Reef Charter Guide

The Great Barrier Reef is a true underworld paradise for all snorkelers and divers. Home to over 1,500 species of fish, 411 types of hard coral, one-third of the world’s soft corals, 134 species of sharks and rays and more than 30 species of marine mammals, including the rare dugong. It is also home to six of the world’s seven species of threatened marine turtles – making it a true marine haven!

Port Douglas

A cosmopolitan seaside village and port, this is the ideal spot to begin or end your luxury charter journey. Home to a plethora of restaurants and bars, it’s the perfect place to indulge in some high-end shopping. You can also visit the world’s oldest living rainforest, the Daintree, easily from here.

Ribbon Reefs

Offering several phenomenal diving sites such as the pinnacle at Steve’s Bommie, the Ribbon Reefs are home to many soft and hard corals and pelagic fish. Located on the Great Barrier Reef’s outer edge, the reefs offer plenty of spots for snorkelling, diving, and other watersports.

Lady Elliot Island

An exclusive island, home to 24 white sand beaches, this island was named by Captain Cook in 1770 due to the large number of goannas living there. Part national park, visitors can pamper themselves at the resort’s luxurious spa facilities or take a nature hike to the Cooks Look for panoramic views.

Lizard Island

As the northern most resort on the Great Barrier Reef, Lizard Island is truly secluded from the rest of the world.

Heron Island

Another haven for wildlife, green turtles and loggerhead turtles visit Heron Island’s shores throughout the year. The birdlife on the island is just as impressive as tens of thousands of wedge-tailed shearwaters coming to nest during the breeding season. Stroll along its white-sand beaches, enjoy some bird watching or kayak out to the reef.
