Day 1

Whangaroa

What better way to begin your luxury superyacht charter than surrounded by crystal clear water, stunning scenery, and a peaceful, protected anchorage? The deep waters off the Northland coast are renowned for big game fish and are known as the ‘Marlin Capital of New Zealand’. The scenery in Whangaroa is simply breathtaking, from trails leading to panoramic views of the dramatic topography to unspoiled beaches. Whether exploring the uninhabited islands or cliff rock formations, Whangaroa is ideal for a family vacation, a fun-filled trip with friends or a romantic getaway.

Day 2

Bay of Islands

The Bay of Islands is an enchantingly beautiful archipelago comprised of 144 islands. This aquatic playground is best enjoyed from the luxury of a superyacht; allow your crew to give you an experience of its highlights, visiting the geothermal Ngawha Springs and Waiomio Glow-worm caves. Found south of Kawakawa, these caves are home to thousands of luminous glow worms, which cast eerie and magical light up into the caverns. For the more active, head to the coastal walkway and hike a full circle around the inner bay, taking in the scenery along the way.

Day 3

Poor Knights Islands Marine Reserve

Your next stop is the protected marine reserve of Poor Knights Islands, a diverse paradise with sheltered coves, arches, sheer cliffs and an extraordinary underwater oasis. With visibility of 30 meters, it’s no surprise that these islands have been named one of the world’s top ten diving destinations. Home to a diverse range of plants, animals, and fish life both above and below the water, The Poor Knights Islands are washed by warm currents and a global icon. Land lovers can also soak up the magic of this destination by hiking or following bike trails along the picturesque Tutukaka Coast as you cruise from one stunning anchorage to the next.

Day 4

Great Barrier Island

Often called the New Zealand that time forgot, the idyllic getaway of Great Barrier Reef Island is made up of forests, beaches, and bays that offer opportunities for a variety of adventures. This Pacific coastline – having shielded Auckland’s harbour from relentless swells for thousands of years – is now a yachting paradise, its shoreline fringed with flawless anchorages. Spend the day hiking the paths to see spectacular natural waterfalls or diving into rich biodiverse waters. As evening falls, sit on the deck stargazing, watch the Milky Way come into focus and listen to a friendly guide entertain you with interesting facts and fascinating stories.

Day 5

Mercury Islands

A protected natural area, The Mercury Islands are home to a plethora of endangered fauna. Hike through fragrant palm groves, relax on white-sand beaches or dive below the surface to see a marine kaleidoscope. Explore underwater caves, canyons, and arches, whilst keeping an eye out for blue maomao, kahawaie, demoiselle fish, and moray. With permission from the private owners, you may visit the magnificent coasts, rich woods, and sprawling meadows of the exclusive Great Mercury Island. After a glorious day, return to the boat and seek out a remote anchorage to take in the breathtaking scenery.

Day 6

Coromandel Peninsula

Only 55 kilometers from New Zealand’s largest city, the Coromandel Peninsula feels like a lifetime away. A slice of subtropical paradise, hike through the kauri forest to see abandoned gold mines, canyons, waterfalls, and jaw-dropping cliffs. Unwind in the natural springs, or arrange a picnic with your crew and travel to a deserted beach for a romantic getaway. Surf along the magnificent Coromandel volcanic coast in a sea kayak. Explore Hahei, the famed Hot Water Beach, where you can dig your very own heated spa pool. For the boutique shoppers in your party, visit Cathedral Cove, savour local cuisine at a delightful café or play a round of golf in Pauanui.

Day 7

Waiheke Island

Waiheke is a small Mediterranean island in the Hauraki Gulf, covered in olive trees and vineyards. Known as Martha’s Vineyard, this New Zealand getaway features boutique-style wineries and a stunning coastline. Unwind on award-winning local gewurztraminer or sauvignon blanc while exploring the island’s vineyards, olive orchards, and boutiques. Test your fleet of water toys around the Pacific in beautiful sheltered harbors perfect for jet skiing and paddle boarding. When you’re tired of eating, lounging on the sand, and splashing in the surf, there are a variety of other activities to try. A network of walking paths winds through nature reserves and past the stunning cliff-top mansions of Auckland’s elite.

Day 8

Hauraki Gulf

The Hauraki Gulf is Auckland’s weekend playground, with miles of white sand beaches, numerous islands and calm waters. Watch as whales bask in the twilight sun and huge pods of dolphins playfully linger around the shore. Dive into the blue or go fishing to catch some fresh seafood for dinner. The Gulf Islands are brimming with activities and adventure! There is something for everyone, whether you decide to paddleboard to Beehive Island for sand and snorkeling, sail to Hen Island for reptile treks or mountain bike in Matuapu.

Day 10

Auckland

For many years, the Bay of Islands has been the primary destination for New Zealand boat charters. However, since hosting the America’s Cup in New Zealand, Auckland has grown in popularity as a yachting and yacht charter destination. Welcoming boats of all sizes, Auckland is an excellent and exciting place to end your charter. Investigate the atmospheric markets and for an unrivaled view of Hauraki Gulf, try a ‘Pacific fusion’ dinner at Orbit, the rotating restaurant at the top of the city’s Sky Tower.
