The 55-meter yacht designed by Bannenberg & Rowell, Moon Sand, serves as a bespoke family retreat, showcasing that size is no barrier to the hallmark Lürssen quality in engineering and design. Tailored for private use, the yacht reflects meticulous attention to detail at every scale, from grand engineering feats to the smallest nuances. Moon Sand was specifically crafted for a family seeking intimacy with minimal crew and access to secluded locales beyond the reach of larger vessels. Its design supports family gatherings with features like exterior safety gates and high bulwarks, alongside cleverly adaptable guest cabins. Inspired by the classic yacht Carinthia VI, originally designed by Bannenberg the Elder and built by Lürssen in 1973, Bannenberg & Rowell incorporated elements from this heritage into Moon Sand’s initial concept. Through iterative design processes, Moon Sand has emerged with a distinct new identity that pays homage to its Lürssen/Bannenberg lineage. The interior design of Moon Sand is characterized by fearless combinations of colors and textures, complemented by museum-quality furniture pieces. This meticulous approach extends beyond the living spaces to encompass technical areas, reaffirming the yacht’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and design excellence.
