Mljet National Park

A must-visit, the national park offers plenty of hiking trails through its beautiful surrounding woods. Rent a bicycle or trek along the trails. Alternatively rent a kayak or canoe and paddle around the big lake, Veliko Jezero and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.

Polace

Located on the island’s northeastern coast, the village of Polace houses many Roman ruins, including a large structure from the 5th century, remains of a Roman Palace and ancient walls. Enjoy wandering among the ruins and looking out to the sheltered bay.

St Mary's Island

The site of a former Benedictine Monastery, head to St Mary’s Island in the middle of the Big Lake. Built in the 12th century, the ancient building has been reconstructed on several occasions (including the tv series Game of Thrones) and now houses a cafe and a small museum.

Pomena

A small village and harbour located at the west end of the island, this is the perfect place to drop anchor and break out the snorkeling and scuba diving sets. Sheltered by the tiny island of Pomestak, the warm, calm waters are teeming with aquatic life.

Odysseus Cave

Situated near the village of Babino Polje, this egg-shaped cave is nestled between jagged limestone rocks. Previously used as a shelter for fishing boats, it is illuminated by a spectrum of colours, a natural geomorphological phenomenon caused by sunlight and rocks.
