Kos Yacht Charter

One of the most popular destinations in Greece’s Dodecanese island chains, the island of Kos is famous for its abundance of pristine beaches, historical sites and rich vegetation. Boasting endless, beautiful coastlines filled with sandy beaches surrounded by clear, turquoise waters, Kos is one of Greece’s most interesting yacht charter destinations. Located just 6.4 kilometres away from the Turkish mainland, a Kos yacht charter is the ideal way to explore the many Greek and Roman historical and cultural landmarks the island offers. The capital city, known as Kos Town, is celebrated for its magnificent mountainous backdrop and fascinating history. An excellent destination to begin or end a charter through the Dodecanese island, as it features a full-service marina and international airport, Kos retains an authentic charm that will appeal to all charterers.

Kos Charter Guide

The third-largest island of the Dodecanese archipelago, Kos is the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. Be sure to visit Hippocrates’s Plane Tree, located in the centre of Kos Town, which is where Hippocrates is believed to have taught his students.

Kos Town

Not to be missed, Kos’s capital and main port town offer various architectural styles from ancient, mediaeval and modern times. Take in the Venetian buildings in its historic streets before visiting the imposing Castle of the Knights of Saint John and its fortified walls.

Ancient Agora

Just outside of Kos Town lies Ancient Agoa, an important historical site containing a series of ruins dating from 4th-century BC to 6th-century AD. Ranging from old temples to baths and houses with mosaics and columns, it was once the political, commercial and religious hub of the island.

Marmari

A laid back village, Marmari is the perfect place to unwind. Home to a beautiful wide sandy beach, charterers can enjoy a range of watersports, swimming, sunbathing and horseback riding along the shore. You’ll be spoilt for choice with several beach bars, cafes, cocktail bars, and upscale restaurants.

Tigaki

Boasting one of the most stunning beaches in all of Kos, the resort village of Tigaki is tranquil. Head to the beaches of Lenas and Barracuda with tavernas, informal bars and global restaurants along the beachfront. Alternatively, visit the Alikis wetland reserve to see the flamingos and pelicans.

Lago di Zia

Located further inland on the island, this tiny mountain village is a popular day destination known for its quaint cobblestone streets lined with tavernas, boutiques and traditional blue-and-white houses. The nearby Kos Natural Park is the perfect place for hiking and biking, with sweeping views of the area.
