Mangusta Maxi Open 132
Sold

TWW Yachts is pleased to announce the sale of another new-build project for 2023 to one of its longstanding US clients. The buyer of the 39.85-metre Mangusta Maxi Open 132E superyacht by Overmarine Group was introduced by Jean-Claude Carme who closed the sale with the support and assistance of Overmarine’s sales department. Delivery is expected in July 2024.

“My clients think highly of Overmarine and enjoy spending time on their Mangusta 108. They weren’t in the market looking to replace but to upgrade. After weighing up many options with different builders, the new Mangusta Maxi Open 132E was a perfect fit for them and their plans for Mediterranean cruising. The fact that she was already a considerable way through construction was an added bonus,” says Jean-Claude Carme.

This latest sale by TWW is the first unit from a new era of the popular Maxi Open series. Compared with the other yachts in the series, this “E” model features a restyled hull and superstructure and is equipped with a new engine package that consumes less fuel and delivers an improved range.

The Mangusta Maxi Open 132E can accommodate up to 12 guests across five staterooms. The owner’s suite will feature a walk-in wardrobe/dressing area and his-and-her bathrooms. The remaining accommodation comprises a VIP suite, two doubles and a twin with pullout beds. She can also host six crew in three cabins.

The in-house team at Overmarine designed her distinctive sporty lines, giving her the racy look and feel that the brand’s well known for. Partnering up with Overmarine for this latest edition of the Mangusta Maxi Open 132 series is the owner’s interior designer Iconia. She’s been substantially modified and upgraded from the original package and equipped with a state-of-the-art marine sound system by Focal/Naim. Changes have also been made to the flybridge and her pool has been relocated to the foredeck.

The Mangusta Maxi Open 132E superyacht is lightweight and will be constructed from GRP: single skin composite for her hull and sandwich composite for her superstructure. She’ll be equipped with three MTU 16V 2,600 M96L engines and three waterjets (two KaMeWa S63-4 and a KaMeWa S63-B4). The Mangusta Maxi Open 132E also has two Seakeeper 35 stabilisers, engineered for peak performance while cruising and optimum roll damping at anchor.

She cruises at a phenomenal 30 knots for 520 nautical miles and can reach speeds up to 35 knots. To put this in perspective, she could travel from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Freeport, Greater Bahamas, in just over two hours and return back again without the need to refuel. While if the owners are cruising the Mediterranean they could easily brunch in St Tropez, go shopping in Monaco and then catch the sunset in Calvi, Corsica.

Construction of the Mangusta Maxi Open 132E has already begun at Overmarine’s production site in Viareggio, Italy, and will now be managed by TWW Management and Capt Hervé Le Gand. Delivery is expected in 2024.

“We’ve seen such a strong demand for new-build yachts, and I’m incredibly pleased to see our new-build division so active,” David Westwood, Principal Partner at TWW Yachts, adds. “There are five Italian-built and TWW-managed superyachts scheduled for delivery this year, and we’re incredibly proud to add the Mangusta Maxi Open 132E to our 2024 portfolio.”
