Sole Engineer / Deck Engineer - 30m+ M/Y - Private

We are currently seeking a Deck Engineer / Sole Engineer to join a 30m+ Single Season Private Motor Yacht.  

We are seeking a hands-on Engineer Deck / Sole Engineer to join a yacht currently undergoing an extended yard period, with the opportunity to transition into operations once completed. This is a dual-role position that requires a candidate who is confident in the engine room while also being willing to assist on deck during owner use and charter periods. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of all engine room equipment, carrying out general maintenance and supporting the overall running of the engine room. They should be comfortable troubleshooting issues, taking a proactive approach to problem-solving and ensuring all systems are maintained to a high standard.

In addition to engineering duties, the role will involve supporting deck operations as needed, particularly during busy periods. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in deck and engineering roles within the yachting industry, along with a strong team-oriented mindset to ensure smooth day-to-day operations onboard.

Please note: The vessel is currently in an extended yard period and may not be operational during the Mediterranean season. The plan is for the vessel to go commercial.

Candidate requirements:

• Previous experience as a Deck Engineer or Sole Engineer on similar-sized motor yachts
• Knowledge of yacht maintenance, deck procedures, safe working practices, water toys 
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for deck and mechanical systems
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small, dedicated team
• Flexible attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and service
• Valid STCW and ENG1
• AEC 1&2

Package:

• Salary: €4,250
• Leave: 38 days paid per year
