Sole Engineer - 40m+ M/Y - Private

We are currently seeking a Permanent Sole Engineer to join a 40m+ Private Motor Yacht.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, ensuring the maintenance and operational integrity of the vessel, and providing technical support to guarantee smooth sailing and safety on board. This role requires a proactive leader with a thorough understanding of marine engineering systems, crew management and compliance with maritime regulations. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain to uphold the high standards of the fleet and deliver exceptional service to guests. A hands-on approach will be needed as this is an older vessel. The vessel is currently undergoing a year long refit and will require an Engineer that has worked with older systems and is able to get their hands dirty.

Candidate requirements:

• Chief Engineer – Y4
• Valid STCW and ENG1
• All supporting certificates up-to-date
• team player and happy to lend a hand on other departments
• Proven experience as a Chief Engineer on vessels of similar size (35m – 50m)
• Strong knowledge of yacht engineering systems, including power distribution, hydraulics, HVAC, and plumbing
• Leadership skills and experience in managing engineering teams
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
• Commitment to safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance

Package:

• Salary: €6,500 – 7,500 pcm
• Leave: 5 days paid leave per month – (60 days paid per year)
• Itinerary: Mediterranean
