Èze Charter Guide

Èze is famous not only for its picture-perfect setting but also for its exclusivity and tranquility. The village is pedestrian-only, adding to its serene, fairytale-like atmosphere. At the very top, the Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique) offers panoramic views from Saint-Tropez to Italy, especially magical at sunset. Èze has long inspired artists, writers, and philosophers—most notably Friedrich Nietzsche, who regularly climbed the path from Èze-sur-Mer to the village, now known as the Nietzsche Trail. Jardin Exotique d’Èze

This stunning cliffside botanical garden crowns the village with a spectacular view over the Mediterranean Sea. Filled with cacti, succulents, and sculptures, the Jardin Exotique is a tranquil escape and the perfect spot for photography, reflection, or a romantic stroll above the clouds.

Èze Village

Wander the narrow alleys of the old village, where every corner reveals medieval stone houses, arched passageways, and flower-laden balconies. Artisan boutiques, perfumeries, and art galleries are tucked into the ancient walls, making Èze Village a feast for the senses and a paradise for collectors.

Nietzsche Path (Chemin de Nietzsche)

This scenic hiking trail connects Èze-sur-Mer (the seaside part of Èze) to the hilltop village. It’s a moderately challenging climb, but the reward is worth it: breathtaking views of the Riviera and the same inspiring path once walked by the philosopher Nietzsche. Wear good shoes and bring water!

Fragonard Perfume Factory

One of the oldest perfumeries in France, Fragonard offers a free guided tour through its Èze laboratory and boutique. Learn about the perfume-making process and shop for exclusive scents, soaps, and cosmetics. It’s a fragrant and educational stop just below the village gates.

Château Eza

A former prince’s residence turned five-star hotel, Château Eza is a destination in itself. Perched on the edge of the cliff with panoramic sea views, the hotel also houses a Michelin-starred restaurant. Whether for a night’s stay, a glass of champagne, or a fine French meal, it’s a highlight of the Èze experience.
