The perfect eco-friendly yachts to own next summer: SUN & Silent 80

The future is green, including the future of the superyacht industry. With new regulations being created and implemented to help protect our waterways and oceans, more shipyards are stepping up to the plate to do their part. Investing in sustainable alternatives to traditional shipbuilding, as well as living and cruising, builders around the globe are offering more eco-friendly yachts. Just as premium, luxurious and striking as their conventional counterparts, an eco-friendly yacht is a perfect choice for any superyacht owner, whether they be a first-time buyer or a seasoned yacht owner.

For those looking for a modern, striking and eco-friendly superyacht, look no further than the 35m motor yacht Sun. Built by Italian yard Arcadia Yachts in 2012, she is the first in the yard’s 115 series. Featuring an innovative, eco-driven design by Francesco Guida, she was created with sustainable living in mind. Her light and relatively transparent superstructure allow her spacious interiors to be flooded with plenty of natural light, thereby reducing her need for harsh indoor lighting. Additional solar panels on the roof provide sufficient power to limit the use of generators. Her spacious, clean and green interiors can accommodate up to ten guests in five cabins, which includes a full-beam master suite on the main deck and four double cabins on the lower deck.

For an authentic, sustainable approach to yachting, there is the Silent 80. The flagship of the Silent Fleet, this tri-deck superyacht is powered by solar power. Everything from the propulsion of the vessel, to energy for navigation and comfortable living onboard. Creating a relaxing, tranquil ambience, there is no noise, smell or vibration on board the Silent 80. However, this 24.3m yacht offers all the luxurious amenities found on conventional yachts, with an abundance of space for a vessel her size.
