Michael Fonda

Born and raised in South Africa, Michael has spent more than five years working on yachts ranging in size from 30 to 90 meters LOA, with his highest rank being First Mate. His time on charter yachts has given him extensive knowledge of the Western Mediterranean and successful Atlantic crossings, having navigated over 70,000 nautical miles.

Prior to yachting, he amassed over nine years of experience in bookkeeping, where a fundamental understanding of risk and operational management was developed. His attentiveness and analytical ability are key contributing factors to his success and achievements.

Michael has since pursued a land-based career within the yachting industry as a retail charter broker with TWW Yachts. Through this skill development within TWW Yachts and his wealth of industry knowledge, Michael has been able to forge a substantial network with yacht crew, industry peers and clients.

Joining the Yacht Management team has allowed Michael to utilise his invaluable operational and fiscal experience in the support of our crew, clients and key stakeholders. His role sees him focused on the day-to-day support and operations of vessels in our fleet.

In Michael’s downtime, he is very sporty and active with interests in golf, cricket, padel and fishing. He also enjoys bush adventures, relaxing under the stars and approaches life with a daily positive attitude.
