Josh Du Preez

Born and raised along South Africa’s stunning Wild Coast, Josh developed a deep passion for the ocean from an early age. With the sea at his doorstep, he dedicated countless hours to surfing, fishing, and sailing, cultivating a lifelong connection to marine environments.

While pursuing a BCom in Business Management, Josh demonstrated his leadership skills by coaching sports and establishing a rugby academy in Johannesburg. He also played a key role in organising and managing national adventure races, further honing his organisational and communication abilities.

In 2016, driven by his love for the sea, a passion for travel and his ambition to forge a new career, Josh embarked on his first role in the superyacht industry. He achieved his Yacht Master qualification in 2019 and has since accumulated eight years of experience managing onboard crews and overseeing shipyard periods, documentation, and classification for private and charter vessels ranging from 38 to 53 meters. This extensive experience equips him with an in-depth understanding of client expectations and needs, as well as the highs, lows, challenges and successes that crew experience on board.

At TWW, Josh is dedicated to ensuring that all crewing requirements, on our client’s yachts, are supported with the commitment and diligence they require. His excellent interpersonal skills, combined with his management background and time onboard give Josh a unique perspective. Affording him a wealth of knowledge to draw on when consulting with candidates and clients.
