Joanne Haxby

Originally hailing from Leeds, in Yorkshire, a career in maritime was not the first thought for Joanne. In fact, her early career was forged in hospitality and management roles, across Charity, Education, and Hotelier sectors. When Joanne stumbled across an opportunity within the Maritime industry she grabbed it with both hands, accepting a role as assistant Purser with a world-renowned cruise company. Approaching the job with the same interest, excitement and diligence that she still employs to this day.

With over two decades of experience in onboard management, hospitality and leadership roles, including more than six years as Hotel Director, Joanne has honed her skills in operational excellence, personnel management, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Joanne’s career has seen her thrive in diverse, dynamic environments, from managing luxury expedition cruises in Antarctica and the Arctic to overseeing large-scale operations on premier cruise lines.

This time on board allowed Joanne to demonstrate her diligence, loyalty, and adaptability, whilst also granting her extensive experience in budgeting, revenue optimisation, compliance audits, team management and complex logistics, making her a natural leader with a talent for navigating challenging situations with poise and efficiency.

Having transitioned ashore from a very successful career at sea, Joanne brought with her a wealth of knowledge and a unique skill set that the team at TWW Yacht Management all benefit from. As part of our compliance team, Joanne continues to showcase her knowledge base and support the team and crew at all levels.

When not working, Joanne enjoys walking, swimming, reading, and crafting. Throwing her creative flair into everything from painting and sketching to embroidery and working with clay. Joanne also enjoys perfecting her skills in cooking and baking, much to the delight of the team in Kent.
