Alfiero Mellino

Alfiero is a qualified Chief Mate II/2 Unlimited and has worked in the Maritime Field for an industry leader in Cruise Ship operations for over 11 years. Initially he served with them as a Deck Officer for over 6 years and has operated on vessels with worldwide cruising itineraries.
 
Following this time at sea he subsequently moved ashore to work with the same company, as their Crisis Officer – Fleet Operations/Maritime Support Officer, where he helped with the development and then launch of the company’s Maritime Support Centre. This development included the creation and implementation of both manuals and procedures for use in supporting ship operations and emergency situations. Other responsibilities within this Centre included working as part of a team to provide 24/7 shoreside support.
 
Additionally, during his tenure he participated as a Company Representative at the 6th session of the IMO sub-committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and rescue (NCSR) with the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) giving technical advice on various matters related to navigation and communication.
 
After five years spent with the Maritime Support Centre, He moved to the Marine Operations Department, as the Deck and Safety Compliance Administrator. This role included managing compliance of deck and safety related requests for a fleet of 21 cruise ships and monitoring a global budget of more than €30 million.
 
Since joining the TWW Yacht Management team, Alfiero continues to use his operational management experience to assist with maintaining high levels of pragmatic and efficient support to Owners, Captains and Crew for the company’s growing fleet.
