Day 1

Juneau

Your adventure begins in Juneau, the capital of Alaska, nestled between snow-capped mountains and the glittering waters of the Gastineau Channel. Spend the morning exploring the historic downtown area, where colorful buildings house artisan shops, seafood restaurants, and cozy cafes. Visit the iconic Mendenhall Glacier, just a short drive from the city, and hike to Nugget Falls for a close-up view of the cascading waters against the backdrop of the ancient ice. In the afternoon, return to the marina to provision the yacht and enjoy a farewell dinner onshore before setting sail at dawn.
Day 2

Tracy Arm Fjord

Sail south into the spectacular Tracy Arm Fjord, a narrow, deep water fjord surrounded by towering granite cliffs rising over 3,000 feet. Cruise slowly through the icy waters, passing drifting icebergs and waterfalls plunging from the cliffs. The highlight of the day is witnessing the massive, blue-hued Sawyer Glaciers. With a bit of luck, you’ll see the glaciers calving, sending giant chunks of ice crashing into the water. Keep your binoculars handy for spotting harbor seals resting on icebergs and mountain goats perched precariously on steep ledges.
Day 3

Petersburg

Arrive in the charming fishing town of Petersburg, known as “Little Norway” due to its rich Scandinavian heritage. Wander along the wooden boardwalks that line the harbor and admire the traditional Norwegian rosemaling patterns painted on local buildings. Visit the Clausen Memorial Museum to learn about the town’s fishing history and Norwegian culture. In the afternoon, explore the nearby LeConte Glacier by tender or kayak and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this smaller, less-visited glacier.
Day 4

Frederick Sound

Today, cruise through Frederick Sound, one of Alaska’s most renowned whale-watching areas. The nutrient-rich waters here attract large pods of humpback whales, often seen breaching and bubble-net feeding. Spend the day slowly navigating the sound, with breaks for fishing or kayaking in calm coves. Enjoy the incredible experience of hearing the haunting songs of whales echoing through the water beneath your vessel. End the day with a peaceful anchorage in a sheltered bay, surrounded by nature’s soundtrack.
Day 5

Baranof Hot Springs

Head to Baranof Warm Springs, a small village accessible only by boat. Follow a scenic trail through the forest to a series of natural hot springs overlooking a roaring waterfall and the tranquil bay. Soak in the mineral-rich pools and take in the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. For the adventurous, hike the Baranof Lake Trail for stunning vistas and a peaceful escape into the wilderness. Tonight, dine onboard with fresh-caught seafood and the sounds of the nearby waterfall as your backdrop.
Day 6

Sitka

Arrive in Sitka, once the capital of Russian America, where Russian Orthodox churches still stand alongside Native Tlingit totem poles. Visit Sitka National Historical Park, famous for its collection of totem poles set amid towering spruce and hemlock trees. Explore the Russian Bishop’s House, a remnant of the town’s colonial past. Spend the afternoon visiting local galleries and sampling freshly smoked salmon. In the evening, stroll along the scenic waterfront promenade, where you may spot sea otters and bald eagles.
Day 7

Red Bluff Bay

Anchor in the breathtaking Red Bluff Bay, a hidden jewel surrounded by towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. This is one of the most beautiful anchorages in Southeast Alaska, perfect for kayaking through the calm, mirror-like waters. Watch for brown bears foraging along the shoreline and spot eagles soaring overhead. Paddle quietly to hidden coves and photograph the dramatic red-hued cliffs that give the bay its name.
Day 8

Warm Springs Bay

Continue to the peaceful retreat of Warm Springs Bay, known for its natural hot springs and scenic hiking trails. Tie up at the public dock and visit the cozy village of Baranof, where boardwalk paths connect rustic homes. Soak in the free public bathhouse overlooking the bay or hike to the hidden springs for a more secluded experience. In the afternoon, explore the nearby waterfalls and swim in the invigorating glacier-fed streams.
Day 9

Elfin Cove

Cruise to the remote village of Elfin Cove, where wooden boardwalks replace roads and life moves at a slower pace. This tiny community is a favorite among fishermen and nature lovers. Spend the day exploring the protected waters by kayak, where you’re likely to encounter playful sea otters, harbor seals, and curious porpoises. Visit the local museum and chat with friendly residents to learn about life in one of Alaska’s most isolated communities.
Day 10

Icy Strait Point

Dock at Icy Strait Point, a hub of cultural experiences and thrilling outdoor adventures. Take a guided tour to learn about Tlingit heritage, or brave the famous ZipRider, one of the world’s longest ziplines, soaring high above the forest canopy. For wildlife enthusiasts, a guided whale-watching excursion offers the chance to see orcas and humpback whales up close. Walk along the beach trails or visit the restored cannery museum to delve into the area’s rich fishing history.
Day 11

Glacier Bay National Park

Spend the entire day immersed in the untouched beauty of Glacier Bay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the massive tidewater glaciers like Margerie Glacier and Johns Hopkins Glacier, where the thunderous sound of calving ice echoes across the fjord. Watch for sea lions lounging on ice floes, puffins darting over the water, and orcas patrolling the icy bays. The scenery here is some of the most spectacular in the world, with towering snow-capped peaks and deep-blue ice formations.
Day 12

Hoonah

Arrive at Hoonah, the largest Tlingit village in Alaska. Experience genuine Native Alaskan hospitality as you explore cultural centers and watch traditional dance performances. Take a leisurely nature walk along the coastline, and if you’re lucky, you might spot bears foraging along the shore or eagles nesting overhead. Visit local art galleries to purchase handcrafted souvenirs that reflect the vibrant culture of the region.
