Glacier Bay Charter Guide

The unspoiled majesty of Glacier Bay is accessible only by sea or air, making it one of the most exclusive and untouched charter destinations in the world. Located within the Inside Passage and part of the Alaskan panhandle, the area spans over 3 million acres of rugged mountains, dynamic glaciers, temperate rainforests, and deep fjords. Margerie Glacier

Margerie Glacier is one of the most famous and active tidewater glaciers in Glacier Bay. Stretching 21 miles long, it’s known for its towering ice wall and thunderous calving events, where massive ice chunks break off and crash into the water below. As you approach by yacht or tender, you’ll be treated to a front-row seat to this icy spectacle, with floating bergs all around and possibly harbor seals resting atop them. It’s a prime spot for photography and reflection.

Bartlett Cove

The only developed area within Glacier Bay National Park, Bartlett Cove offers a gentle introduction to the region’s wilderness. It houses the park’s visitor center and lodge and is the starting point for several scenic trails, including the Forest Loop and Bartlett River trails. It’s also a great launch point for kayaking excursions, where you can glide quietly along the shoreline, spotting porpoises, sea otters, and migrating birds.

Johns Hopkins Inlet

A dramatic fjord flanked by mountains and glaciers, Johns Hopkins Inlet is accessible only to smaller vessels due to ice and marine wildlife protection efforts. The inlet ends with the Johns Hopkins Glacier, a majestic blue-tinted glacier that’s one of the few in the park still advancing. Lamplugh Glacier

Situated in the scenic Reid Inlet, Lamplugh Glacier is a lesser-known gem that offers a more intimate glacier viewing experience. Tlingit Tribal House
