Marco Scaramuccia

Marco holds a master’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, bringing over 17 years of international experience in the shipbuilding industry. His expertise spans the surveillance and construction of large commercial vessels, oil & gas and superyachts.

His affinity for the sea took root during his rowing activities in the Tyrrhenian Sea, flourishing further at the nautical school in Viareggio where, during summer stints working at Axis Group Yacht Design, the seed was planted for his passion for yacht construction.

Following this early experience, he joined the course in Genoa University and graduated with honours in 2007. This marked the beginning of a seven-year journey in Asia with Registro Italiano Navale (RINa) where he undertook several roles from Class New Building Surveyor, Site Manager, Engineering Coordinator and Project Manager.
In this period working and living in South Korea, Japan, China and Indonesia, he participated in important projects for the construction of Tanker, Bulk Carrier, Chemical Carries and the FEED and construction of PGN FSRU Lampung.

In 2014, Marco shifted gears to London, joining the consultancy realm with ABG group (formerly LOC) working both as Project Manager for Marine Warranty Surveys services for TOTAL Nigeria Egina FPSO project and as Client Representative for the removal and restoration project of wreckage of Costa Concordia showcasing his versatility.

In 2016, Marco immersed himself in the cruise world with Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding, relocating to Southampton. His tenure included overseeing the construction of various ships for Seabourn, Holland America Line and Carnival Line, with a standout achievement in building the award-winning Carnival Panorama, named “Best New Cruise Ship” in 2019.

Transitioning from there, Marco assumed the role of Head of Project Management Department for custom yachts at one of the largest Italian superyacht brands.  For over two years, he actively participated in the construction and delivery of several yachts, ranging from 50 to 67 meters. Collaborating closely with TWW during the delivery of FB606 – Alunya, Marco was captivated by TWW’s practical and elegant approach in working with numerous stakeholders.

Since joining the TWW Yacht Management team as Project Supervisor, Marco is committed to ensuring quality and swiftness in supporting Owners and their crew.  His vast experience and dedication make him an excellent resource and an invaluable asset to our project division.  In his spare time, Marco enjoys running and rowing (he was Italian champion in 1996 in a quad scull) plus he has a keen interest in sustainability and innovation in technology & robotics.
