Day 1

Catania

With a strong magnetic pull, Catania is Sicily at its most youthful. A city packed with cool and gritty bars, abundant energy and an earthy spirit, it is a wonderful place to explore before boarding your luxury charter yacht. Catania’s historic core is a UNESCO-listed wonder, where black-and-white palazzi tower over sweeping baroque piazzas. One minute you’re scanning the skyline from a dizzying dome, the next perusing contemporary art in an 18th-century convent. Beneath it all are the ancient ruins of a town over 2700 years old. Explore under the warming rays of the Sicily sun, before heading onboard to meet your crew and kickstart your luxury yacht charter.

Day 2

Taormina

Cruise on to Taormina, a delightful little town founded in the 4th century BC. Flourishing under the Greek ruler Gelon II and later under the Romans, Taormina is perched spectacularly on the side of a mountain and now a hub as a summer destination. This now chic resort town is popular with vacationing high-rollers and those seeking a taste of the Sicilian dolce vita. Wander tiled streets and feel the distinct air of style, elegance, and glamour created by a history rich in legends and romantic myths. A spectacular 2nd century Greek theatre, nestled high in the mountainside, is also a must-see when exploring this lovely municipality.

Day 3

Milazzo

The gateway to the Aeolian Islands, Milazzo’s allure welcomes travellers throughout the year with its lively atmosphere and historical architecture. Visit the striking Castello di Milazzo, built in 1239 by Frederick II and later expanded by Charles V of Aragon. Take a stroll through Borgo Antico (Old Town) and enjoy the natural beauty of the rocky coves and authentic Italian restaurants. Taking a trip on the tender to explore this wonderful town is definitely encouraged; sample local cuisines and soak up the relaxed, warming atmosphere of Milazzo.

Day 4

Vulcano

As your superyacht approaches the island, you will notice a visibly smoking crater and sulphurous fumes. With legends claiming that it was the chimney of the fire god Vulcan, it is undeniable that Vulcano makes an impressive first impression. Today it remains famous for its therapeutic mud baths, hot springs and fantastic views across the Aeolian archipelago from the top of its crater. Beyond Porto Di Levante, you’ll find a completely different island where you can kayak and swim off Gelson’s volcanic beaches. To find complete peace, visit the central plateau, full of quaint vegetable gardens and lush greenery.

Day 5

Lipari

Lipari is the largest, busiest and most accessible of the Aeolian Islands. Visitors arriving from the mainland will likely experience it as a relaxing introduction to island life; if you’ve just come from the outer Aeolians, it may feel a bit like a big city! The main focus is Lipari Town, the archipelago’s principal transport hub and the nearest thing that islanders have to a capital city. A busy little port with a pretty, pastel-coloured seafront and plenty of accommodation, Lipari Town is a convenient base for island-hopping. Away from the town, Lipari reveals a rugged and typically Mediterranean landscape of low-lying macchia (dense Mediterranean shrubbery), silent, windswept highlands, precipitous cliffs and azure blue waters.

Day 6

Panarea

Cruise on to Panarea, the smallest of the Aeolian Islands and known for its understated chic and laid-back atmosphere. Relax onboard your luxury superyacht while anchored near the Calajunco beach. After watching the sunset, explore the island as it comes to life, first at Bar Del Porto for an early evening drink and then at Hotel Raya for spectacular views and a taste of the island’s lively nightlife. For those keen on hiking, Panarea is dotted with mule paths just waiting to be discovered. Explore the walking path from the harbor to the island’s summit of Punta del Corvo; once there, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Aeolian islands.

Day 7

Stromboli

Many say that Stromboli is the most enthralling of the Aeolians, with its symmetrical, smoking silhouette soaring spectacularly from the sea. Although volcanic activity has damaged much of the island, the northeastern corner is inhabited and the famous black volcanic beaches can be found here. As darkness falls on the island, flames from the volcano become visible at 15/20 minute intervals. This 100,000-year-old ‘Black Giant’ is unprecedented in history for its continuous explosive activity, and groups of people gather at night, fully equipped to climb the volcano. For those keen to explore, take one of Stomboli’s hiking tours to discover this extraordinary island.

Day 8

Amalfi

Appropriately named the ‘Pearl of the Amalfi Coast’, Amalfi’s green forests, azure seas and whitewashed buildings make it an iconic stop on your luxury yacht charter. Despite many of the historical buildings of the old city having diminished into the sea during an earthquake in 1343, the town exudes history and culture and is waiting to be explored. For those so inclined, the magical Byzantine inspired cathedral still stands tall and is definitely worth a visit. Anchor in the bay and explore the cobbled streets of Amalfi, with its sun-filled piazzas filled with the aromas of fresh coffee, jasmine and lemons.
Positano Yacht Charter

Day 9

Positano

Located at the heart of the Amalfi Coast, what was once a quiet fishing village is now a dashing and deluxe hotspot. With traditional old houses scattered along the cliffs to the sea in a veil of pink, terracotta and peach, narrow, winding streets laced with wisteria, 5* restaurants and designer retailers, Positano truly epitomises the glamour expected of Italy’s southern coast. The fashion history runs deep in Positano: the town was the first in Italy to import bikinis from France and is the ideal spot for some retail therapy. The surrounding islets are equally steeped in history and culture, so don’t miss the chance to visit Li Galli or Gallo Lungo by tender in the afternoon.

Day 10

Capri

The island of Capri epitomises Mediterranean natural beauty at its finest. Steep cliffs rise majestically from a sparkling blue sea, wisteria and bougainvillea cover the elegant villas and an ambience of tranquil calm permeates the air. Whilst known for a sophisticated hedonism, having been made famous by the rich and famous in the ‘50’s, the quiet coves, balmy climate and rugged scenery provides a juxtaposition that leaves visitors feeling utterly relaxed and rejuvenated.

Day 11

Naples

Cruise from Capri to the city of Naples and the end of your luxury charter holiday. Before disembarkation, be sure to make the most of your yacht’s amenities; relax on the sundeck or take the water toys out for a last spin. Having said goodbye to your yacht and their crew, discover two beautiful royal palaces, three ancient castles and the city’s Museo Archeologico, containing one of the world’s finest collections of Pompeian frescoes and mosaics. Stop off for a coffee at a local artisan café on a historic street and take in what the Amalfi coast has to offer.
