Make the best of your 8 Day New England Yacht Charter with our New England yacht charter itinerary.

Day 1

Newport

The ideal place to begin a New England yacht charter, Newport is a hub of the American yachting scene and famous for the mansions built by leading American families. Hike the Cliff Walk, a beautiful 3-mile path along the rocky coast that provides a back view of Bellevue’s mansions, many of which offer guided tours. Browse the Museum of Yachting in Fort Adams State Park for a cultural eye-opening that covers much of Newport’s storied yachting history.

Day 2

Edgartown

Edgartown is Martha’s Vineyard’s first colonial settlement and regarded as one of New England’s most elegant communities. Take in the stately Greek Revival houses – remnants of the whaling industry and eras gone by. Meticulously preserved, the town is now a museum-piece community frozen in the early nineteenth century. Walk to the Island’s oldest known residence, 1672 Vincent House, and from there the magnificent Old Whaling Church. For those wishing to see local fauna, head for the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary or the Caroline Tuthill Wildlife Preserve in Chappaquiddick.

Day 3

Nantucket

Travel onwards to Nantucket, also preserved and restored to the way it looked in the nineteenth century. This interesting place has earned the nickname “The Grey Lady of the Sea” due to both its foggy appearance from the ocean and cedar shingled houses weathered to natural grey by the salty air. Tour the island for great restaurants and chic shops, or discover some of the 82 miles of beaches where 40% of the island has been designated conservation land. Whether strolling along wide sandy beaches, visiting boutiques, or excellent art galleries, Nantucket has something for every guest.

Day 4

Cape Cod

The Cape has many faces, from charming fishing villages, kitschy tourist traps to genteel towns. Families looking for calm waters ideal for small children prefer Cape Cod Bay, found on the peninsula’s quieter north side. Those who play hard during the day and party hard after the sun goes down head to Falmouth or Wellfleet for a bustling atmosphere. Cape Cod National Seashore stretches for 40 miles and encompasses the Atlantic shoreline from Orleans to Provincetown. A treasure trove of unspoiled beaches, dunes, salt marshes, nature trails and forests, it is a stunning stop on your luxury yacht charter.

Day 5

Day 6

Boston

Arrive in Boston and relax on the waterfront or visit one of the city’s many tourist attractions. Those wanting adventure should take a Swan Boat Ride in the Public Garden or walk the Freedom Trail. This thriving city is known for its cultural facilities, champion sports franchises, and position at the forefront of American history. If your charter falls on July 4th, this is the place to be for fireworks, the Boston Pops, and more!

Day 7

Kennebunkport

Cruise the blue waters of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as you make your way to Maine. Lunch onboard your yacht before exploring the many specialty shops in Dock Square in the charming town of Kennebunkport. During the summer, join the many boutique shoppers and art gallery enthusiasts and indulge in the local culture of Maine. Numerous patio cafes provide excellent stopping places for a quick bite of succulent lobster rolls and other fresh-catch dishes. Blowing Cave and Spouting Rock are great places for adventurous charter guests to explore dramatic wave crashes and sea spray.

Day 8

Portland

The largest city in Maine, Portland will enchant you with its ornate mansions and expansive ocean views. Visit the Old Port, alive and bustling with great restaurants and coffee shops, before exploring the Harbour Islands near downtown Portland. Don’t miss cultural highlights such as Peak Island, the lighthouse commissioned by George Washington or the home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. For those willing to venture further afield, head to Boothbay, New England’s boat capital, which has a scenic harbor and numerous inlets for kayaking and paddle boarding.
