Day 1

Corfu

From the writings of Gerald and Lawrence Durrell to the place where the shipwrecked Odysseus was soothed and sent on his way home, Corfu has been portrayed as an idyll for centuries. Today this reputation has led to parts of the island being defiled by mass tourism, but despite this, the Corfu of literature does still exist. Sail around the corner, walk over the next headland or potter about the rugged interior and a place of bountiful produce, cypress-studded hills, vertiginous villages, and sandy coves awaits. Since the 8th century BC the island the Greeks call Kerkyra has been prized for its untamed beauty and strategic location. Ancient armies fought to possess it, while in the early days of modern Greece it was a beacon of learning. Corfiots remain proud of their intellectual and artistic roots, and this is always a popular first stop on a luxury yacht charter.

Day 2

Paxi

A little treasure about 13 kilometers long, arrive by private yacht to Paxi, a Greek sanctuary. According to legend, Poseidon created the island by casting his trident into the sea, resulting in these stunning blue bays, century-old olive orchards, and beautiful pastel-coloured harbour communities. Choose from Gaios, Loggos, and Lakka; each hamlet has a wonderful beauty that is best enjoyed from the comfort of your private yacht. Indulge in freshly caught seafood, plunge into the pristine waves, or simply people-watch in one of the classic cafes while taking in the tranquility and serenity of this Ionian jewel.

Day 3

Lefkada

Cruise on to Lefkada, with its stunning scenery and traditional characters. The main town of this secret sanctuary has a peaceful yet vibrant vibe, due to its location at the southeastern corner of a saline lagoon and the beautiful style of the brightly painted houses. Take a leisurely stroll along the bustling pedestrianized walkways and sample fresh traditional Greek cuisine at one of the many lovely tavernas nestled beside the turquoise lake. This unknown paradise is undoubtedly one of the most breathtaking islands in the Ionian. Make the most of its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, as we know that when the time comes you won’t want to leave!

Day 4

Ithaki

Tucked between Kefalonia and the mainland lies the shimmering sanctuary of Ithaki. Enticing all visitors that pass her shores, Ithaki is famed in Greek mythology and Homeric literature as the island where Odysseus toiled for ten heroic years to return to. It is romantic, lovely, and alluringly untamed. A lovely stop on your superyacht charter, explore Ithaki’s ancient ruins, breathtaking scenery, nature hikes and towering cliffs. After a dip at Filiatro – Ithaki’s most cosmopolitan beach with stunning blue seas – enter the crumbling walls of the School of Homer where recent archaeological discoveries have discovered may be the long-lost palace of Odysseus himself. Stroll around Ithaki’s breathtaking natural splendor before heading back to the yacht for a cocktail on deck.

Day 5

Meganisi

Blanketed in luxuriant flora, Meganisi is undoubtedly one of the most stunning Ionian islands, spilling out into the Ionian Sea in luscious swirls of cerulean and blue. Meganisi, nestled within a protected archipelago, has retained its traditional character through picturesque harbours, antique stone buildings, and typical Greek windmills. Days pass quickly with breathtaking views, amazing rock formations, an intriguing history, and crystal-clear waters. Small and relatively quiet, the tranquility of this haven adds to the town’s obvious beauty. Head to Fanari Beach Club for a glass of wine under the stars, or simply stroll down to one of the secluded beaches.

Day 6

Kefalonia

Perhaps the most enticing of all the Ionian islands, magical Kefalonia is a place where it’s easy to lose yourself amid air thick with oleander and the sound of goat bells. The largest and perhaps the most varied of the islands, there’s space to breathe here. Discover Kefalonia’s convoluted coastline which conceals all sorts of captivating coves and beach-lined bays, lapped by gin-clear waters teeming with colourful fish. Despite the devastating earthquake of 1953 that razed much of the island’s historic Venetian architecture, ravishing harbour-front villages such as Fiskardo and Assos still show off Italianate good looks. A breathtaking backdrop, lush and mountainous, is dotted with wild meadows, Mediterranean oak forests and vineyards.

Day 7

Zakynthos

Also known by its Italian name Zante, Zakynthos is an island of two stories. The southern and southeastern shorelines are dominated by heavy package tourism, but nestled out of sight are some attractive lower-key bases including Keri and Limni Keriou in the remoter southwest. Leave the south behind and set off to explore the rest of the island, where you’ll discover a different place altogether. A tranquil haven, where plenty of forested wilderness and traditional rural villages remain, the spectacular scenery of the rugged west coast is undoubtedly the highlight. Gaze in awe upon the island’s mighty limestone cliffs, which plummet down towards glistening turquoise waters and the occasional yacht far below.

Day 8

Corfu

Cruise overnight from Zakynthos and wake up to the glorious sounds and smells of Corfu. After a delicious continental breakfast, take your last dip in the azure waters of the Ionian, test out that water toy and make the most of the last hours of your luxury yacht charter. After a fond farewell to your crew, take the tender to shore and stop in at one of Corfu’s many fine eateries for lunch; reminisce on the memories you have made in the past week, and start to plan your next Greek charter holiday.
